Sports Roundup of the week 1/30-2/5

Here are the results for the Warriors for this week of 1/30-2/5:

Women’s JV Basketball: The Lady Warriors beat the Barcley College Bears with a score of 78-47 in an away game in Haviland, Kansas on Jan. 30. Later in the week on Feb. 1 they also beat the Bethany College Swedes at home by a score of 61-49.

Men’s Reserve Basketball: The Warriors in a close game took the loss against the Central Christian College Tigers in an away game with a score of 75-73 on Jan. 30. At home on Feb. 1 the Warriors were able to bounce back and win by as score of 81-71 against the Bethany College Swedes. The week concluded for the Warriors at home on Feb. 4 with a victory over the Bethel College Threshers by a score of 85-73.

Women’s Basketball: The first of the two home games of the week for the ranked 24th Lady Warriors started with a win over the Bethany College Swedes by a score of 72-49 with senior Bethany Stucky leading the way with 17 points, as well as senior Taya Wilson with 16 points for the Lady Warriors. In the second game of the week the Lady Warriors were able to go undefeated on the week with a win over the Bethel College Threshers by a score of 81-70 with senior Bailey Albright as the team’s leading scorer on the day with 26 points.

Men’s Basketball: Tough week for the Warriors as they take two loses at home starting with a 71-61 loss on Feb. 1 to the Bethany College Swedes with senior Kavonte Kinney leading the way in scoring with 18 points. On Feb. 4 the Warriors drop a close one against the Bethel College Threshers by a score of 76-75 with no stats available at the time of publication.

Baseball: With a road trip down to Waxahachie, Texas to take on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions, the Warriors were swept to open up the season with a loss on Feb. 3 by a score of 2-0 with pitching performances by sophomore Ryan Speer and senior Camrin Wleczyk keeping the Warriors in it. Another pitching performance that kept the Warriors in the game in the 3-0 loss on Feb. 4 was from senior Andrew Mason while the Warrior bats couldn’t wake up. The Warriors go on to drop the double header with a 11-3 loss.

Softball: The Lady Warriors went on the road to Great Bend to take on the Barton Community College Cougars with no stats or scores at the time of publication.

Cheer, Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men and Women’s Indoor Track and Field: These teams were all in competition this week with no scores or stats posted at the time of publication.
